Earth Hour 2011 - Vaughan reduces its energy consumption by 8.8 per cent
 

Earth Hour is a one hour lights out event created by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that encourages millions of people around the world to think about how they use energy. Earth Hour encourages people to think about the environmental impact of their actions and what they can change in their daily lives to benefit the planet.

In support of Earth Hour, the City of Vaughan will turn off all non-essential lighting at City facilities for one hour on Saturday, March 26 at 8:30 p.m.

Vaughan Earth Hour Event
The 4th Annual Woodbridge Lantern Walk on Saturday, March 26, 2011 is a showing of community concern for a sustainable earth. The event will include refreshments, displays of energy saving devices, an Earth Hour video, music and presentation of a Green Hero Award. Residents are asked to bring an environmentally-friendly light for the walk and their own cup for drinks.
