York Region's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depots

Do not place household hazardous waste in with your regular garbage. Fines may be issued for non compliance.

Hazardous waste depot location (Vaughan):

• The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is located at 2840 Rutherford Rd, east of Jane St. on the north side

What's Accepted
•	Poisons: pesticides, chemicals, rat poison, bleach, pharmaceuticals, and cleaning fluids.
•	Corrosives: batteries, oven cleaners, drain cleaners.
•	Explosives: aerosols, propane cylinders.
•	Flammables: paints, solvents, oils, gasoline.
•	Fluorescent tubes and energy efficient bulbs.

What's Not Accepted:
• Explosives (other than aerosols & propane tanks).
• Ammunition.
• PCBs.
• Radioactive wastes.

Restrictions and regulations:
•	Available to York Region residents only (proof or residence required).
•	Commercial, industrial or medical office wastes are NOT accepted.
•	Needles and syringes from household medicinal use will be accepted in rigid containers only. No other pathological wastes will be accepted.
•	Make sure all containers are sealed and clearly labeled. Do not mix different products together.
