WINTER RELATED BY-LAWS
 

By-Law #300-93
indicates that Residents are required to ensure that snow and ice are cleared from the City sidewalk abutting their property within 24 hours after a snowfall.

By-law #244-2005
prohibits the building, placement or maintaining of posts, fences, trees, hedges, retaining walls and wooden or cement curbing on all public road allowances on any road in the municipality. The removal of any such obstruction is particularly important for the safe and efficient clearing of sidewalks and driveway windrows.

The Ontario Highway Traffic Act, Section 181
prohibits the placing of snow or ice on a roadway

By-law #1-96 as amended
prohibits overnight parking of vehicles on any street in the City of Vaughan between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This helps to improve snowploughing services and keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.
