The following information is being provided to assist you in the event you
wish to make a deputation at a Committee of the Whole or Public
Hearing meeting. The information has been provided in a question
and answer format for ease of reference.
Where and when does Committee of the Whole and Public Hearing
meet?
Committee of the Whole and Public Hearing meet in the Council Chambers
of the Vaughan Civic Centre, located at 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive,
Vaughan, Ontario, on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Committee
of the Whole is held at 1:00p.m. and Public Hearing is held at 7:00

Who sits on Committee of the Whole and Public Hearing?
All Members of Council sit on Committee of the Whole and Public
Hearing. Council is comprised of Mayor, Regional Councillors, and
5 Ward Councillors.
How do I get copies of the Committee of the Whole and Public
Hearing agendas?
To view and print
an agenda, or visit the Clerk's Department one week prior to
the date of the meeting for a Committee of the Whole agenda, or
the Friday prior to the meeting for a Public Hearing agenda.
How and when do I address Committee of the Whole and Public Hearing?
You may make a deputation at Committee of the Whole and Public
Hearing on any item listed on the Agenda without any prior notice.
If you wish to address Committee of the Whole on a matter not listed
on the agenda, a written request stating the nature of the matter
must be sent to the City Clerk by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 12 days
prior to the meeting. You may fax your request to the Clerk's Department
at (905) 832-8535.You cannot make a deputation at Public Hearing
on matters that are not on the agenda.
At the meeting, complete a "Deputation Form", which will
be available in the Council Chambers. When the matter you wish to
speak to is to be dealt with, proceed to the podium, give your form
to the Clerk's Department staff, and commence your deputation.
How long can I speak?
Deputations are limited to five (5) minutes. Any deputation on
behalf of an organization, or group, should be made by a single
representative.
