The City of Vaughan established the Pedestrian/Street Safety Task Force to determine the best course of action in regards to an increasing number of traffic fatalities on local roads. The task force will address issues such as driver and pedestrian education, provincial legislation, public transit, road design and cooperation between various levels of government. |

| The task force will made up of members of the community and be responsible for bringing forward recommendations to help improve pedestrian and traffic safety. It will identify which jurisdictional authority should manage each of its recommendations and report back to Vaughan Council by June 2011, at which point the task force will end. Applications to the task force are now closed. |
