Development Inspection and Grading staff
perform two different functions, Development Inspection for all
new construction areas and Lot Grading review.
Development Inspection staff are responsible for the overseeing
the construction and maintenance requirements for new development
subdivisions, providing detailed site inspections for all municipal
works constructed, contract administration, quality control and
complaint resolution until the projects are assumed and/or accepted
by the City. Ensuring that municipal infrastructure is built, approved
inspected and meets the City’s standards for acceptance.
The lot grading staff addresses residential drainage at a micro
level as part of the residential subdivision process and private
residential construction. This team is responsible for the review
and approval of site alteration work, lot grading/drainage and pool
permit/inspections.
After the completion of construction, staff is involved with the
following:
- Final lot grading certification inspection with subdivision
consultant
- Residential lot grading complaints and enquiries, prior to assumption
- Recommendations for Completion Approval and Assumption with
respect to lot grading
- Responsible for the clearance of letters of credit releases
for infill lots, additions and pools
