Question: New homeowner or potential buyer of new home would like to look at plans to see where utilities/sidewalks will be located.
Answer: Plans are available in the Engineering Services Department for public viewing (caveat emptor) - these locations are proposed and may be changed by the Developer, without notice prior to final approval of the plans by the City.
Question: How do I apply for services (water, sanitary, storm).
Answer: The procedure to follow is visit the Engineering Services Department and fill out the appropriate application for services (storm, sanitary and water). The application is reviewed by the Municipal Services Technician and you are informed of price and timing of installation.
Question: What publications are available for purchase from the Engineering Services Department?
Answer: You may purchase the following publications from the Engineering Services Department:
  • Site Plan Criteria Guide
  • Standard Drawings
  • Bench Mark Book
Question: I live in a newly constructed subdivision and have several construction concerns, such as schedule of completion, cleanliness of roads, leaky water shut-off valve, etc.
Answer: Any new construction questions are forwarded to the Municipal Services Inspector assigned to the specific area. The Inspector completes a site inspection and informs the developer of any deficiencies he is responsible for.
Question: Street lighting - Various Inquiries.
Answer: Street lighting inquiries are answered as follows:
  • A new development resident requires their light to be energized. The inquiry is forwarded to the municipal services inspector, who in turn contacts the developer to energize the light.
  • A resident in an established area is concerned about dim light levels on their street. The inquiry is referred to the Engineering Assistant responsible for lighting who will conduct the required studies to determine whether upgrade levels are required.
  • Street light is burnt out on an assumed area - this inquiry is forwarded to Public Works for repair/replacement.
